"Who's dead?!" screamed the internet last night. *this post may contain spoilers if you haven't yet seen the season 6 finale of TWD* Not Daryl. Gosh, please not Daryl. I don't think my heart could take it. Aaron? Yep, why not. Carl? Pffft, he's too important. Maggie? Well, death by bludgeoning may be better than death by zombie baby in the womb. If Glenn lives I do want him to shave off that kooky moustache. Please let it be Abraham. It strikes me as weird that people care so much. As I watched all of Negan's men, as they watched our established heroes, I began to wonder about who they were before the zombie apocalypse wiped out a fair amount of the world. Were they teachers, educating and supporting their students? Were they the local friendly car mechanic? A doctor? A famous musician? A veterinarian? A scriptwriter? An artist? A shopkeeper? A policeman? If we are to survive in a post-apocalyptic world do we have to become what we don't want to be? Does our survival depend on us doing things we would never have dreamt of doing in a pre-apocolyptic world? Would evil have to flourish in order for a future good? Whoa, snap out of it! It's only a telly show! I know, but it's important to consider these things, no? Six months until The Walking Dead returns to our screens. It's a good job that Game of Thrones starts in a couple of weeks ... how did folk cope with life before the telly was invented?
