A few persons have mentioned that some of my discussions are quite long and that they prefer shorter articles. I can totally understand that, because it’s difficult to keep up with all that is available to read on here.
So, I have decided to do more “short” articles, and hopefully to make them interesting enough for everyone to read and learn something from what I wrote.
I appreciate all of you who respond to my articles and I enjoy your comments and suggestions.
Do you remember when Buckingham Palace announced the engagement of Britain’s Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer? I don’t remember the announcement of their engagement which happened on February 24th, 1981, but I do remember staying up half the night to watch their wedding take place LIVE from the UK.
Because of the time difference, it was necessary to stay up until the wee hours as I remember.
The picture of Lady Diana dancing with John Travolta was from Pixabay
Did you watch the wedding?

Yes, same here. We had to be owls that night. Another added disadvantage was that every home did not have a TV set so we had our neighbours too at home, but half of them already dozing on the couch. So even if I wanted to sleep could not because of all the extras.

It would have been nice to have had a Smart TV back then. Seems so long ago. Time goes by so quickly.

@IreneVincent I worked as the Activity Director at that home for 10 years, it was a fascinating career.

@Juliaacv I have had many pleasant contacts with Activity Directors over the years. I arranged to give jewelry accessorizing and scarf tying lessons to the residents of dozens of facilities and everyone always enjoyed what I showed them.
My daughter and I have also sung karaoke at one facility and done Bible trivia and Bible lessons at another facility.

Oh, that was a really nice thing to do for the old age home residents. My daughter and I go to several homes in this area and do different things for the residents. They do appreciate it. Right now we are showing some beautiful videos with Bible themes.

Prince Charles is not liked by a LOT of people. He keeps a very LOW profile.

He needs to keep a low profile as he is such a boring and unpleasant person. I absolutely dispise him for how he teated Princess Diana.

@Marcyaz Prince Charles was evidently always in love with his present wife, but she was married and he was getting older and had yet to produce sons. They should never have gotten married, but that's the way royalty does it.
Henry VIII beheaded a couple of his wives because they didn't produce sons.

Her "train" must have been a "mile" long. That's the one thing I remember well.

Yes, a lot of people did that, I think. I didn't have a VCR recorder at the time, I remember, so I had no way to record it.

If you feel the desire to write longer articles, more power to you! Amazing photo with a young svelte Travolta with Diana.

I will still write SOME longer articles, but I will try to keep MOST of them shorter reads. I can always do a Part 1 and Part 2 as someone else suggested. My goal today is to do TEN articles, so I will keep them short and sweet.
