There has been talk that the U.S. Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba will be shut down. When they plan to do this I don’t have any idea.
With the recent talks between President Obama and Cuba’s President Castro, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for building a better relationship with the two countries.
What do you think the benefits will be or do you think there will actually be any benefits?
I was surprised to find out that the Naval Station has been leased by the U.S. Navy since 1903 and has actually been occupied since the U.S. invasion of Cuba during the Spanish-American War in 1898. That makes it the OLDEST overseas U.S. Naval Base.

Yes, we've all heard, and I have a picture of myself by the sign in Key West, that says that Cuba is only 90 miles away. So, it's very close. But, Russia is even closer to Alaska.

What is so fascinating about current videos of Cuba is all the OLD antique American vehicles that are going up and down the streets. It's amazing.
