How do you feel about the hospital services in your city ?

Overall speaking, the hospital services in my city is pretty good if you have time to wait. Our facilities and medical staffs are not bad and they are all well trained when compared with other under developing countries. The medical faculty in the two universities in Hong Kong which provide medical training are quite popular in Asia.However, there are just too many people in Hong Kong and not enough hospitals for all the citizens in our city and it makes the waiting periods takes along time even you have your appointment already. For emergency, if you can still move, you have to wait for 4-8 hours if you are not that urgent. That's the worse part of the services in the hospitals. In order to see the specialists, you need a referral letter from the private doctor or family doctor in the public before they will see you in the hospital. The waiting period will be at least half a year tp two to three years. That's another worse part of our present medical system. But if you have insurance , that would be different because you don't have to go to the government run hospitals. You can enjoy the private hospital but still you have to pay a small amount of money for the insurance may not cover all your expenses. That means if you are poor , you have a hard time to receive the best medical treatment in this place which is no good at all. How about your city? Share with us ?
