How to grow Mushrooms indoors?

I have been thinking of growing mushrooms at home. I discovered oyster and white button mushrooms are easier to grow. Oyster mushrooms can be grown on straws and that white button mushroom requires composted manure. The spawn for the same are commercially available and I also watched a video that showed the method to remove spores for spawn formation. As I am thinking to grow white button mushroom I want to prepare the composted manure all by myself. Though compost prepared from horse manure is best suited, I can’t manage to have horse manure here. Have you tried growing mushroom at your place? Have you experimented using different compost other than horse manure? If you have any suggestion or tips, please share it with me. I will be glad to know them all.
