AAARRRRGGG !!!
It is driving me dippy ....
I am now playing them at their own game.
What am I talking about ?
The people who ring you up out of the blue and say that you can claim thousands of ££££ in compensation for your recent accident.
If this were true then great stuff ... bring it on ....
But, it is not.
These people are just trying their luck ...I know that.
I also know that the person ringing is just doing a job that they have been asked to do.
However, it is now not enough that I am constantly getting these calls.... or that I say I have not had an accident ( one lady said she could get me several thousands of pounds for an accident that I may or may not have seen , even if I could not remember it !!!)
So, now I answer their questions truthfully and ask where they had my details from and what details they have ...... when it comes to the part they ask about the accident and I say what accident ....you say you have details of it so you tell me ....they soon hang up !
How do you deal with these calls ?

In the US we have something known as the "Do-Not-Call List." it's supposedly against the law for anyone to call you if you have put yourself on that list, saying in effect, "I don't want telemarketers calling me." Of course, the issue, as with any law, is that it's only good as far as it's enforced. However, I do think it's diminished the number of calls I get.
As for how I handle the others: I hang up.

Yep, we have TPS here in the UK. It sounds like the same thing.

Those calls come in a lot they don't have as much going for them as they think they do.

If you answer at all, please don't give them any personal information. They could just be phishing.
I get calls about collecting money for damages I got from mesh surgery. I have never had that surgery and no one in the family ever has. I don't know anyone who ever had it. So, why are they calling me multiple times a day?

I save the numbers in my phone under DNA (do not answer) and tell them to ^&%$ off.

I used to tell them to remove me off their phone book but now I just block their phone numbers or ignore the call since I have caller ID.

These are some serious scammers @Traceyjayne . I hang up as soon as they start to open their mouths.

I just don't answer the phone if I don't recognise the number, or it's been withheld. Are you not registered with TPS? We're registered and rarely get unwanted calls. With my mobile, well I never give that number out to anybody unless I know them personally, so I never get cold calls on that.
