From the iPod #39 - "Set Me on Fire"

Formed in the late 1980's, Brooklyn's Type O Negative effectively ended in 2010 when bassist/vocalist Peter Steele died from heart failure. The band is often pigeonholed as a goth band due to their dark and gloomy sound combined with Steele's vampiric vocals, but they were more metal than your average goth band. Then again, on their 1993 album Bloody Kisses, they took Seals and Croft's "Summer Breeze" and turned it into a sludgy, goth-like dirge. After "Summer Breeze" the album needed something upbeat, which is where "Set Me on Fire" comes in. "Set Me on Fire" is, despite it's title, a sweet, summery piece of radio-friendly (although not released as a single) pop-rock. As you might expect, "Set Me on Fire" is a bit out of place on Bloody Kisses, which is either dark and moody, or aggressive and loud. Which is why it's such a cool tune.
i'm gonna go see them 10/16 so i figured i make a video That and i never heard this song on youtube so i figured might as well upload it "Copyright Disclaime...

Yeah, I don't quite understand that, either. It's very radio-friendly. I would think that it would have at least been a minor hit.

@Ronrybs - I have no idea what record execs are thinking. They released " Summer Breeze," even though I can't imagine that getting any airplay.

@teamfreak16 It would be interesting to have been a fly on wall at that discussion

Yes, I saw them at the Ogden. One of the two loudest shows I've seen, the other being, believe it or not, The Cars.

@teamfreak16 Ha really? The loudest huh? The loudest I ever saw was Ted Nugent at the Hammersmith Odeon. I could not hear for hours afterwards..anything. I was afraid it had affected my hearing for life and it might have done. Black Sabbath came in a close second for loudness.

Is it possible to turn Summer Breeze into anything listenable?
