What would have happened if the Giant space rock had missed?

Today dinosaurs are extinct species. But if the space rock had not crashed onto th Earth, dinosaurs would have continued to dominate and even would have comfortably colonised many environments from polar conditions to regions of rivers and forest, jungles, deserts and so on. But what is your opinion on that topic? Do you agree or disagree with me?

I can't believe that I've never thought about this before. What a great question. Not sure if anything else could of happened for them to die out. Maybe it was best for them to get wiped out in one hit and fast because knowing how selfish and greedy people are nowadays, we probably would be skinning them alive or using their body parts for something that we don't need. Who knows.

@VivaLaDani13 They didn't die in one hit. LOL They just failed to adapt to the climatic conditions that were changing during that period. That meteor hitting the Earth's surface did speed up the process and made everything worse for them. Their size, take for example those long necked dinosaurs. (Diplodocus/ Brachiosaurus) Their body shapes weren't practical or in accordance with the changes that were taking place. That scary T-Rex. (Tyranosaurus Rex) It wasn't that difficult to defeat. Make it fall down once. It won't be getting up fast. Due to its tiny fore limbs and humongous hind limbs. Unbalanced body structure. Standing back up after a fall would become difficult for it. Imagine with other carnivorous dinos/ animals around, it would just be sitting duck waiting to be devoured alive by them. "Survival of the fittest" and "evolution" wiped out dinos and birds came about in their place.

I don't think that meteor was the main reason in their extinction. They weren't adaptable to climatic conditions. Their humongous size also worked against them. "Survival of the fittest" theory? Species that were fittest during those period survived and in some cases evolved. Like birds from dinosaurs.

Einstein said that God does not play dice with the Universe. Unfortunately for the dinosaurs they got hit with one roll of the dice.
