On Saturday,it was there in the news of a bus that was set ablaze by angry motorcycle riders popularly known as Bodaboda operators here in my country. This was after a bus knocked down one of the operators. It was however not clear what really led to this accident and there was no one to save the situation as the crowd of onlookers watched as the bus was consumed by flames.

There are two terrible things in your story and unfortunatly if happens everywhere. The first is that there are those people and that the police does little. And the other shameful thing is that everyone looks and noone helps. Most of the times, onlookers take their cell phones to get a video to show their friends instead of calling the authorities.

Did you mean "mob" in your title? An angry mob can be very frightening because it seems they are consumed by anger and will not heed any sane voice.
