Where did you meet your spouse?

I was reading another discussion and thought of this question. Where did you meet your spouse or your significant other? Was it a bizarre, chance meeting or was it more "normal"(whatever that means). I have a friend who met her husband in an elevator. They worked for different companies and used the same elevator day in and out. One day they started chatting and - almost 7 years later - still together. Seems strange but romantic to me. I am a singleton personally and beyond annoyed and on sabbatical from anything to do with online dating or "blind dates" set up by over-eager friends. Lets hear your story!

@maezee I first saw the one I was to marry in a mirror and was married less than a year later. That was 32 years ago.

@maezee I was sitting in a Church and saw her reflection in a mirror sitting on top of the organ. She was sitting some way behind me. We got talking afterwards.

My boyfriend and I knew each other in school then when I graduated in 2002 we lost contact with each other. Then 5 years ago we met on facebook and hooked up and been seeing each other ever since then.

I met my husband at university. He mistook me for someone else with the same name, although he didn't know at the time. In his defence, I was some distance away.

@maezee maybe. Either way, he still says that he mistook me for another girl, that he honestly thought I was her for a moment, and I kind of believe that story. But anything is possible.

I met my husband in a choir. We were part of the same choir and so naturally got to talking to each other and ended up liking each other.

Was it difficult to work with him? I worry about it getting in the way of the job itself. Or maybe you work in different departments?

Mine was actually a blind date for New Years Eve set up by my sister! He had just come over from England and I fell for the accent right away lol. We were married a year later! :) It will be 40 years for us this December. We were both babies when we got married in case any of you are wondering!!

40 years! That is so excellent. I have to admit accents sure are cute. Glad to hear of a blind date that was successful! My experience with blind dates or setups has been daunting. Theres hope yet!!

I've been divorced for 22+ years and now a widow. However, we met in the Navy. We worked for the same command and I saw him every day.

On facebook. Really worth it. Sweet, caring. Things just going the way we thought. Two years together, still going strong
