Just last week,I attended a parents meeting in the school where my son attends his schooling. The headteacher informed us that the school management had resulted to installing invisible cameras in the school compound after it emerged that some students were involved in abusing drugs and smoking bhang. She said that for example some give excuses of to answer the call of nature but once in the loo, they seem to take forever. She thus said with such cameras fitted, its easier to monitor students and unearth those taking drugs. A lot was said by other teachers with some focusing on our role as parents as far as the behavior of our children is concerned. In particular we were warned to be on the lookout this April holiday when the children will be at home.Of concern we were cautioned to know whom our children play with because most students are influenced into bad behavior by their peers. Then parents were asked to be a good example to their children because if as a parent you are a liar, then your child will definitely follow suit.

Yes parents do have a lot of responsibility for their childrens outcome as well as teachers. Teachers and parents can be partners in schooling of children both in school and out. And for the schools here I would use a much stronger word than mischief..how about mass shootings?
