Don, the party python!

Almost 8 feet long and 250 servings, this candy would make a great conversation piece before consuming it. Found this at Jungle Jims, a BIG (well big considering where I come from) place where I can find just about any kinds of food from various countries. I remember the first time we visited and was looking for the bathroom (no small feat, believe me) and just the alcohol section was about as big as the small grocer in town. Never saw so much booze... What I didn't get was a picture of the bathroom door. It looks like a port-a-john door, but when you walk in, it is a nice bathroom. Next time I go, I am going to try and get a picture of that. So, just outside the alcohol section, on the way to the candy section, was this glass aquarium with this large gummy snake. I can't imagine how one would serve this, can you? Cut it up in pieces? Allow the guests to just tear in and grab what they can? I wouldn't eat it because it probably contains gelatin, but I think it would be interesting to attend a party and see how the host/hostess would serve this baby up...

This large gummy snake is not so much a sort of food as a handcraft ware.It is a pity to eat it up .How far is Jungle Jims to your home ?

@changjiangzhibin89 You found Jungle Jims? It is actually a large grocery store, but I still find it amazing that you can search out this store like that. It isn't a long distance, but long enough that even now with my husband retired, we don't go there unless we are in the area for another reason.

Not too far, probably similar to when we would drive into the city when my husband worked and I went to school. Problem is, we don't know the area enough to know the best route to go and each time we end up taking the wrong turn and having to turn around. By the way, good to see you were able to sign in today, I miss you.

I would prefer real python, but they are difficult to cook because they struggle when you try to put them in the pan.

I wonder if they would make one with kosher gelatin, then I would be able to enjoy it. and you are right, it would be better to slice and serve with toothpicks. Yet, I wonder how hard it would be to cut? Have you ever cut a gummy worm before?

@crazyhorseladycx There is non pork gelatin, I buy mine from Walmart, but they don't carry the unflavored, which I would like for some recipes I have. I wonder if I asked, if they would order it? Couldn't hurt to ask...

I can see a party full of people with a sweet tooth eating this...Like I said in one of the threads, if it had a different gelatin, I would eat some of it.

No, the sign says "special order" so if I were to ask, I could probably find out how much it costs.

I have no idea how you would serve this but not being a snake lover I wouldn't want any part of a candy that looks like a snake. Next show us this bathroom door.

Well, I think if the ingredients are not bad, I could eat one. The door will have to wait, I am not going to be in the area until next Tuesday. So keep your eyes open...
