For some reason I have been waiting.Waiting on what you may ask. Not sure but tired of waiting. Waiting for people who think so differently than me to align. It is just not going to happen. I have met two punk rockers on Facebook. Met a couple on here. Great people, but are people so set in their ways? Not sure, people have been very respective, but offer no perspective. Kind of boring if you want to go that route, but what about me understanding you and you me. I hate everyone, but know people who can make this society function in a minute. Just not me. lol Meaning I will screw some stuff up. What is so different on this. Supposed to have world class poets, book writers, Musicians are climbing out of the tear ducts. Anything can happen but society always seems restricted.
The great acoustic version of "Angel's Wings" by Social Distortion. Love it!

Lol you are funny. Even the people you may think are "punk" are still, well, people and we all have different goals, thoughts, opinions, lifestyles and so forth. You can find likeminded people though who do not like the same type of music or scene that you do. I find that a lot of people are incredibly close-minded, people who label themselves "punks" included. What's the point in not being open-minded to new things? That's how these crazy cool things get started - someone takes a risk and tries something new. That's kind of a problem I have with punk and why I can't exclusively listen to some of those bands that feel they need to only use a three-chord progression and cannot color outside of the lines so to speak. I like the Social Distortion tune by the way. Social D is actually a great demonstration of what you are talking about - or looking for - here. You see so many different musical styles over the course of their career. You have the straight-up punk (like on whatever first album has "Another State of Mind" and "Mommy's Little Monster" - blanking on the name), more bluesy in the self-titled album, more rock-ish in White Light, and I found their most recent album to be more slow and bluesy as well. They also have a big country influence. You gotta love that. Anyway, I hope you are able to meet some more people you connect with. Instead of looking to meet up with punk rockers, maybe just look to meet up with people who are like-minded and open minded like you are?

You have a good point, and one maybe I need to look into. I do think I have tried it that way, but maybe like you might or might be pointing out. Is maybe I am a little off. I am not usually the one to shuts down people's music. At least not at first and if I do I usually feel bad about it. That may or may not be the point, but like you said, just need to find some like minded people. Thanks for your well thought out response.

Yes. Most of society are set in their ways, unwilling to try or do new things outside of their comfort zone. Always a treat to hear some Social D. Love Mike Ness.
