Runaway Far Far Away

I am seriously thinking about packing my bags and getting into my POS of a car and just driving..driving anywhere the road is willing to take me, not for good but just for a release to get out on my own.
I am even considering looking at flights and going somewhere by myself for a weekend, somewhere that obviously doesn't cost too much but also sunny and warm and it has to be by a body of water I can jump into.
Have any of you ever felt like that? Where would you tell me to drive to that could be fun and decently cheap?

Because I want to runaway, go to a warm place, but can't afford it, I stay home. However, a cheap getaway would be to go to a butterfly conservatory or other indoor facility that is warm and inviting. You can get lost for an hour or two and become blissfully relaxed.

Ive never been to a butterfly house, they have one every year at the state fair but I have yet to go in. I think I might freak out with all of them flying around my head but would be beautiful to see though

@Castlerock34 Perhaps a trip to a greenhouse. Lovely, warm, and beautiful plants abound.

It would cost you less to take a flight to the nearest beach in Mexico than to drive and spend on gasoline on a five or six hours drive in Minnesota. Pie de la Cuesta (1500 pesos motel room for a month on the low tourist season).

@astlerock34 . . Well, sometimes I also think the same thing, especially when my wife is giving me headache. I usually end up in the nearest casino to listen to the music of a local band. That is the cheapest place for me to go to fight boredom and kick away the headache caused by my wife!
. . . Sunny and warm and surrounded by a body of water?! I know that kind of place - - the PHILIPPINES! And it is cheap . . one U.S. dollar is equivalent to almost 50 Philippine pesos! Filipinos are friendly (not to mention beautiful) and speak American English!

I am really bad with geography but is that anywhere near Bangkok? That is probably a little bit further than I want to travel on my short trip, but for sure a good idea for something longer

All too frequently. You are in Minnesota so it would cost a lot to go to Mexico or California for sunny beach. What's weather like by Lake Michigan which you could drive to and find some inexpensive hotel?
