Donald Trump and family get an A+ at CNN Town Hall

My opinion only – I think Trump, his wife Melania and his extremely impressive kids appeared as very classy, intelligent, supportive, loving and yes, presidential, last night on CNN’s town hall hosted by Anderson Cooper. If Trump could somehow combine more of that humility he showed last night with less of his standard avenger approach, and then bring that combination to the table, he might just pull it off and get those crucial 1237 delegates before the convention starts. Time will tell. Tonight Ted Cruz and his wife (not sure about the kids) will appear on the last of the three consecutive CNN town halls. As I said in a previous post, I plan on watching it. I’m not 100% sure I can get through a whole hour of Cruz without going mad but I will do my best. Image: Pixabay

It's good to hear someone praising Trump instead of running him down all the time.

@LindaCPearson With all due respect, if his kids are at all "impressive", which I'm sorry but I sure don't think his sons are in the last bit unless somebody is "impressed" by someone killing endangered animals just for the trophy, it's not due to Donald. He left wife #1 for #2 when his oldest three kids were very young and then he left #2 for the current foreign-born Mrs. Trump when the younger daughter was just little so they were raised by their mothers or more likely by nannies. They can speak articulately, which is more than can usually be said for their father, but so would anyone be able to when they get the best education money can buy.

I'm not sure why, but there is something about him I like. I'm not sure I am ready to vote for him, but it isn't totally out of the question. I'm very impressed with his family and how he's raised his kids.

I didn't see it, but if Trump can look classy and "even presidential" it may or may not help his cause right now. I think at least the majority of Trump supporters like the "in your face" style. He has said so many things that no one else would have the courage to say. I don't know... I'm not sure what kind of president he would be, but considering the other options... okay, I don't mind Cruz, but I have lost some respect for him lately. It's going to be even more interesting from here on out.

Since when does it take courage to call people names or mock the disabled? I guess it does take a certain amount of gall to cheat people out of their life savings, as Donald did with his fraudulent Trump U, or to simply choose not to pay people who did work for him.

Perhaps it is time we try someone who isn't a career politician and can stand on their own two feet financially. I don't listen to debates or town hall events but rather do my research in other ways.

Are you referring to Melania Trump? I must admit I'm fascinated by her nerve to actually deliver a speech at the RNC Convention that was lifted from Michelle Obama's 2012 speech. Or maybe she's really that much of an airhead that she didn't know what she was reading...

@anniepa she prob had no idea, the trumps seem to have bad people to do their fact checkers.

@Jessicalynnt Then she obviously lied. She claimed to have written the speech herself, "With as little help as possible" but then after people noticed the plagiarism (SURPRISE...LOL!!!) it was said that Melania had found the passages from Michelle's speech on the internet and sent it to the speechwriter and told her she liked them. So she's a liar, extremely stupid or (my guess) BOTH. Donald didn't marry her for her brain...lol!

I liked Cruz when he was taking a stand against Obama Care but I haven't been interested since. The man is not presidential.

The only time I've ever "liked" Cruz was when he showed some backbone by telling people to vote their conscience instead of being a hypocrite like so many of the other leading Republicans and endorsing somebody they've been forced to denounce on a daily basis for over a year. I also have to side with Cruz against Donald when the latter attacked Mrs. Cruz and Raphael Cruz.

@anniepa Unfortunately America might not survive the results of this election. Voting one way or the other could lead to bad things all around. Although I sided with Trump in the beginning, I had hoped that after he got farther along that he'd back off a bit with his hot-headedness and talk about issues the way he should to encourage would-be voters, but instead he's still in battle mode. I think he needs to take off for a week and reflect before getting back into the ring. Hillary... there's just no way I would vote for her, because she wants to tax me more and punish my parents because they've worked hard all their lives and give that money to people that haven't worked hard all their lives. Or that's what she says, but I know a good chunk of that money will flow back to the people she owes debts to. The future looks more and more socialistic, and that's a terrifying future indeed!

@OneOfMany I agree with you Morgan, but Trump may just be making a turn-around as of the past few days and change enough to give potential supporters some hope.
