When people talk the talk it amuses me but bothers me more.

On the phone with her son who has a tendency to get hot headed at times, has a grudge against an ex girlfriend but his new girlfriend has heard so much bad about his X, that this created a lot of bad words expressed.
Saying I'm gonna kill somebody is a bad thing to say just as a form of venting.
Being a red neck still don't make you a killer. But when they talk this kind of talk, I can't be too sure where their head is at.
I know that a verbal threat can be taken seriously even if that threat is not intended to be real. The person venting a verbal assault on another may be just having a bad day but when it comes down to the law, a person who opens their mouth with something that can, in the literal meaning of the words that are expressed be taken seriously, the legal penalties for this type of verbal venting can be very high and stay on your record forever.
Movies are just movies but they have so much verbal abuse language and killing that is just an act that it tends to influence some people in a very bad way. We learn things by example. The people who get all upset about things usually know someone who has been in trouble with the law or has been in jail or prison. I don't take verbal assault lightly. But I don't try to engage in threats. It's a no win situation.
