If you're keeping track of the @JohnRoberts-created Top 10 Songs series', your scorecard should look something like this: Finished Top 10's: Linda Ronstadt (@JohnRoberts) Elton John (@FourWalls) Bad Brains (Teamfreak16) In progress: Warren Zevon Merle Haggard (Top 20) (both by FourWalls) The Cure Siouxsie and the Banshees (Teamfreak16) Guitarist/vocalist Robert Smith formed British post-punk band The Cure in the mid-1970's, and despite numerous changes in personnel, the band is still going strong all these decades later. On the band's 1983 single "The Walk," Smith and keyboardist Lol Tolhurst were acting as a synth-pop duo on the release, and it worked. "The Walk" is the quirky, danceable style of synth-pop that ruled a lot of the alternative music of the early 80's. And it gave the young band a Top 20 UK hit (#12,) although the band had yet to crack the Billboard charts here in the States. (I find that a bit odd. College radio was all over it. That is where I first heard it.) But "The Walk" had absolutely no US chart presence that I can find. And yet, I knew people who owned it, which means SOMEBODY was buying it. If you want the song, it was later included on the band's Japanese Whispers compilation. It's classic Cure, a song no Cure collection can do without. Join the Top Ten fun. Pick a band and do your own Top 10. You get to share your favorite songs with everybody, and you get to have fun doing it.

He's put out so much music over the years that it's probably next to impossible to have everything. I haven't even seen Japanese Whispers anywhere for a long time.

Another classic Cure. TOTP is such a great source to get clips from 80s bands.

I agree. I always try to use TOTP video if they are an option.
