Like who you are

A life lesson I've learned along the way is it doesn't matter if everyone around you likes you if you don't like yourself. No one else's opinion matters as much as your own, you're the one living your life, and only you truly know yourself.
I've had to come to terms with who I am and try to like who I am as a whole, and it's not always an easy job, especially when others try to put you down and make you hate who you are, but your opinion is what matters at the end of the day.
I'm keeping this one short at least short for me lol, but I just wanted to remind others to like and even love who you are. Don't let others dictate who you are or what you should be like, that's up to you to decide. I find some of the biggest jerks in the world tend to be that way because they don't like who they are despite the front that they put up.

I'm still surrounded by people who put me down. And made me question how I perceived myself, which I thought was pretty darn good.
Thanks for the reminder.
Soon, I'll get to the day when they can't put me down any longer. When their opinions won't matter. And then I could be comfortable in my own skin.

Glad I could remind you. I know how difficult it is, and I struggle with it myself, we don't want others opinions to matter, but almost everyone wants acceptance, but we'll never get that acceptance if we're not true to ourselves, we need to like who we are so that others can really see us. I've been put down a lot in my life, but I do my best not to care, but it can be difficult. One day you'll get there. We just have to keep picking ourselves up and keep moving forward. Only we know who we really are. Those that put us down don't really know us.

@bounce58 If people really took the time to truly get to know people and know why they do what they do I think there'd be a lot more acceptance and a lot less judging. It's easy to judge and put others down when you don't know their story.

You should like who you are and not care what others have to say.

As they say : "You cannot love others unless you learn to love yourself first".
