Photo Study – Bunny Girl By The Lake

This photo-shoot really drew some public attention. The photographers, including myself and the models, were invited to a picnic in Manchester’s Platt Fields on a very hot summer afternoon, and the models came in some very outrageous costumes. This lady came in a casino bunny-girl outfit and I got this shot of her posing by the park boating lake, looking almost siren-like by the signage warning people not to get too close to the water.

i would like to note she appears comfortable in her own shape, which is something many of us could aspire too.

yes, that is her true beauty - she was quite relaxed in such daring wear in public - many people would be too self-conscious

@MGjhaud the shoot was taken at an informal social gathering of a group that gets aspiring amatuer models - male as well as females, and equally amatuer photographers together for photoshoots so they can build up portfolios and develop their skills. Professional groups charge a lot for this but many models and photographers happily do it for free - it is well supervised to protect models from anyone too creepy - the group has been quiet lately as the organizers have been busy with other commitments but these shoots are great to do

@arthurchappell i see. some of my friends are photographers too and they normally ask women friends also to become their model so it would be for free. some of them are photographers for hire now.
do you do editing too?

@MGjhaud Some editing - I just crop out background details, and occasionally wipe out red-eye effects on night-shots but most images are exactly as taken. I don't tend to use fancy graphics and such - I like the image to be a genuine capture of a moment

Was this section of town especially busy that day because it had water, or is it a common area that people visit just because of it's beauty? I'd think the photo shoot probably drew attention because people were there for other reasons. Maybe some of the people were there with families and they weren't so happy to see scantily dressed models?
Did someone else provide the picnic foods for your group?

this lady was the scantiest dressed of any - the park is a popular beauty spot - one cyclist neary rode into the lake admiring her - most people were just bemused - other models wore gas masks and other bizarre costumes - it was very surreal and great fun
