Reasons why your curly hair is frizzy.

Let me enlist some reasons your curly hair is frizzy.
1. Lack of enough conditioning: Your hair is probably short of hydration. Curly hair is a dry hair type and it is very important to condition it. If you don't condition your hair, it is probably going to turn into a dry poofy mess. If your hair is frizzy on the days after wash day, do this. Use a spritz of one part silicone free conditioner and two parts water. Spritz onto hair to dampen and scrunch. You can also use some leave in conditioner on slightly damp hair and scrunch.
2. Sleeping on a cotton pillowcase or any other course fabric: Your hair tends to become damn frizzy when it is faced with constant friction with the course fabric. This would roughen up your cuticles and make your hair dry and cause split ends. Instead sleep on satin or silk. While this may be expensive, it will do your hair a lot of good.
3. Washing hair with very hot water: If you use very hot water, the hair cuticles shall rise and all the moisture shall evaporate. Use lukewarm water on your hair to wash. In addition to this use cold water as a final rinse. This will seal the hair shaft.
4. Not using a soft fabric for drying your hair: Like I have mentioned in my curly hair care post, use softer fabrics like a cotton t shirt or a microfibre towel to dry your hair. Using any course material will irritate the hair shaft.
5. Not deep conditioning: Deep conditioning is a very important step. Try deep conditioning once a week at least. This will give your hair its required moisture. Equally important is the technique. If your hair is too thick or too dense, try giving it a little steam or wrap it in a hot towel. This will help the hair to soak the moisture up.
6. Heat styling your hair: This is fairly obvious. Heat dries your hair out and dry hair is frizzy. For healthy hair, just stop using heat.
7. Not getting a haircut to remove heat damaged hair: Heat damaged hair does not respond well to conditioning or to styling. So just make sure you cut that part away for best results.
8. Not pineappling your hair: This will lead to your curls getting tangled up and getting flat because of the rubbing.
9. Humid weather: This is just something you have deal with. Humid weather causes the hair shaft to absorb more moisture and this can lead to the curls being messy and frizzy.
10. Not detangling properly in the shower: In case you do not detangle your haor properly, your hair would look matted and the curls would be flat and more prone to frizzing.
Hope this helps!
