New York Mets manager Terry Collins is not expecting his ace right handed starting pitcher Jacob deGrom to make his next scheduled start against the Philadelphia Phillies next Tuesday since deGrom is currently in Florida threw a light bullpen session on Friday. Logan Verrett will replace deGrom as the Mets starting pitcher next Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. deGrom last pitched on April 8, 2016 versus the Phillies at Citi Field when he left the game due to tightness in his right lat that has sidelined him for the time being. ESPN,com reporter Adam Rubin believes the Mets will place deGrom on the 15 day disabled list this weekend. The disabled list tag on deGrom will likely be retroactive to the date when he last pitched which should make him eligible to return to make his next scheduled start after the Phillies game on Tuesday. Coliins is not concerned that deGrom will miss an extended period of time since he has been in Florida since Monday pitching in a bullpen session so he can recover from his right lat injury.

deGrom is so good that they have to be prudent and careful with his arm.
