Walking in a hot day

This morning, I went out to buy my medicine which I should take for a month. I have 5 more days then the medication will be stopped. I went to the city proper at 9AM, and it was already hot, so I brought my violet umbrella courtesy of Cadbury. I wore my denim shorts and gray tee shirt, rubber sandals, had my wet hair with the head band, and blue shoulder bag, while I listened through the radio on my phone. I “strolled” down the main street of the city, and although it was so hot, I had my violet umbrella to shade me. The public transportation (tricycles) do not want to take me because I wanted to go to the bank far from where I disembarked. It was good I brought the umbrella. I finished all my tasks and then I came home at 11AM. Do you enjoy walking alone under the sun’s heat? I did that.

No, i don't want to walk under the sun's heat . I experienced that last Sunday , where i went to Bicol University after mass to buy a t shirt with the Palarong Pambansa logo . I walked with my umbrella from gate 5 to gate 3 , because i like to buy "chicharon ' at the food stalls of the trade fair . Unluckily , they have gone home already since Palaro ended Saturday . And gosh , i sweated like crazy , i didn't go to the dry goods section of the market in Daraga anymore , because i cannot take the heat anymore .

oh, so it was so hot there in your place too? was gate 5 far from gate 3? did you wear long sleeved clothes to protect your skin from the UV rays?

@ridingbet in summer, the sun here down under is a lot stronger than over there in our homeland.. Australians love to get tanned skin .. but they use sunscreen of course ..Even I got my skin tanned .. I love it too to have darker skin.. whereas most Filipinos are afraid to get darker.. lol

@epiffanie yes, and those SPF's in lotions are often used by those who do not want to get dark. i have 3 students who are dark-skinned but beautiful and i advised them not to bleach their skin because they are beautiful in dark complexion

i think the sun in your place emits a not-so-hot rays, right? that is why it is good to walk under the sun with just a hat to give you cover

no way! Maybe if it's a cool afternoon sun, i would. But in our kind of temperature, better to stay away if you don't want to die of heat stroke.

our city has many shades with the tall buildings my, so even if i walked alone under the sun, i was still protected with the sun's rays.

i've always wondered: when you listen to music while out walking or in public transportation or while waiting in line, etc, do you still hear what's going on around you?

@ridingbet that's what i tell my niece and nephew. keep one ear open so they hear what's going on here at home.

the music i listen to when i was out was in low volume only and it is only 1 ear that uses the earphone, so i can still hear the noise of everything

@hereandthere i have watched a video on FB about those poor Chinese people who meet accidents because they are fully engrossed listening or talking on their mobile phones. better safe than sorry.

Very nice. It depends on how hot it is. If its only warm out and not scorchingly hot I like to walk. Remember to drink lots of water :-)

yes, we must always be hydrated when we go out and be under the sun. the sun here is scorching hot but i went out with my umbrella, so it is just fine.

as long as we equip ourselves with protecting our skin and keeping ourselves hydrated then we can do this actually.

sweating is something i hate during summer, even despite the winds blowing. it is indeed, nice to walk under the sun when the temperatures are cool.

The last time I walked under the scorching heat of the sun was 25 years ago! Most likely, if I come home today, I would end up in the hospital catching my breath!

better to drink more fluid when you walk under the sun, kabsat. but i know you can do that still, provided you have someone to hold you.

When I was younger, I liked the heat of the sun so much. It meant to me then, because of some good reasons, just a few to mention. When I was still in school, it meant lots of great time for play with classmates & friends. When still employed, it meant more lakwatsa with co-employees during lunchbreak & after 5pm. When I started having kids, easily dried cloth diapers, etc. Not anymore. Staying out under the heat of the sun means discomfort, difficulty in breathing, worse, fainting.

the sun during "our time" was not giving too much heat, and it was also nice enjoying its rays even in midday. now, with the hole in the ozone layer, the sun's rays are giving us more damage than good.

it is also nicer if you walk with a friend, or with your love one. you know, HHWW, which is the acronym for HOLDING HANDS WHILE WALKING!
