I really wondered when came to know in the news that the scientists have discovered the Gravitational waves. This is exactly after 100 years of its postulation by Einstein, our Scientists have been storming, their brains in the laboratories to discover to give it a scientific validity. One should remember that it is only with those powerful Interferometers and other instruments they could prove the correctness of the theory. But, how many of us have the access to these powerful instruments? How many of you really are in a position capitulate the hypothesis and understand the beauty of the theory? It is only a few in long beards and swollen eyes in the lab that could understand the beauty of it and came up with weird equations and explanations which their equals or those in the range of their thinking only could understand. For others, their words or statements do not make any difference. Is it not strange that a few are discovering something in the name of science and are rubbing it as a compulsory acceptance on the majorities? The rest of the other will always be there to give it a wide publicity starting from it's publication to recommending for Noble Prize. It is they who will conduct seminars, discussions, debates and finally throw them to the public as a must- accept principles or theories. This is the group of people who miserably fail to show scientific validity as they themselves are not conversant with the topic and dub it as true. It does not mean that the discovery itself was wrong. what I mean to say is that it is only a few intelligent brains who postulate and discover things only to be accepted by a majority of immature and unconcerned as truth.

Interesting discussion, I agree that most of what we accept as truth we never actually found for ourselves. Instead we just accept second hand knowledge as truth.

S. you got it. it is always the so called intellecturals in minority laying down the rules and principles for the majority to follow. They are formulating their own theories and principles honoring each other. Why should I or we accept them if the scientific validity is beyond my or our comprehension? Let them lay down the proofs of their discoveries within the reach and comprehension of a common man.

Does anybody show any proof of the truthfulness of the sayings of the Bible ? Does anybody need to show any scientific proof for the sayings in the Holy Quran, the Bagawadgita, and the Vedas? They are all already well-experimented truths and finally appearing in the form of sacred texts. They are all infallible. The sayings in these holy texts need not be put to a test. One who does not comprehend them always treat them as traditions and customs which is a good policy instead of asking for scientific proof with due respect to their Authors or Authorship.

@shivamani10 But those who know each different one of those teachings has found them for themselves and come to know them as first hand truths because they may not need to comprehend but can have a deeper more spiritual understanding. Those who accept science as truth usually just accept second hand knowledge with no understanding.
