Did you realize that J.R.R. Tolkein’s novel “The Hobbit” was published in England in 1937? Recently, a signed first edition of this book sold for $120,800. Did you realize that the British set fire to Washington D.C.’s Capitol building during the War of 1812 and it might have burned down, but a rainstorm put out the flames. Still standing today, this building’s cornerstone was laid by George Washington in 1793. About 5 million people visit this building annually. Have you ever been there? Picture by Pixabay

I've been outside the White House (I wasn't protesting) and I've visited other DC sites. The Hobbit is a great book. My copy cost less than $10. Haha. It would be really neat to have a signed one, though.

I'm a big fan of "the hobbit". Its surprising it took about a long time for film makers to put it into a movie.
