I am a member of a few local groups on Facebook.
After finding a jacket and remnants of a wallet on my front lawn last night, I posted trying to find the owner. I had a name and birthdate to go on, but no other personal info. There were a few pictures of kids, so I used those to help.
Within hours we had found the owners profile, but he didn't respond. A few hours later I had a message from his sister and this morning we arranged for her to pick it up.
I am hoping that he got everything back.

thats pretty convenient.. a friend of mine recently found an ipad in the backseat of a taxi. they switched on the Find My iPhone app and posted it on FB too. im not sure though if it was returned cause my friend said the ipad was about to be drained at that time and they didnt have a charger for it.

That is how the internet works! Instant communication and rapid responses. The hardest part to believe in the story is how someone could have lost his jacket and wallet like that.
