A good portion of Manchester's New Order's 1989 album, Technique, was recorded in Ibiza, where the band fell in love with that island's acid house scene.
It is evident on Technique, particularly the lead single, "Fine Time."
"Fine Time" is acid house enough to fit right into the scene. I know, I've listened to a lot of acid house over the years, and this fits right in.
"Fine Time" was an international hit, charting in multiple countries, including #1 in the UK and peaking at either 2 or 3 on various Billboard charts.
Is it Better than "Blue Monday?" No, but it's really good in it's own right. And that's about all you can ask.
@JohnRoberts started these Top 10 Series'. You are more than welcome, encouraged, even, to join the fun.

It's sort of a wild and crazy collection of sounds. Not the straight through throbbing of Blue Monday. The cymbals at the very beginning then the intro sounds you are diving into a crime thriller or spy suspense movie.

I could see that. I never made that connection before, but now that you mention it, I hear what you're saying.
