Bill Shaik reported the good news on Monday that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford who has been on the 15 day disabled list since April 8 with an injury to his lower back is likely to be activated on Tuesday. The Dodgers are currently hosting the Miami Marlins in a four game series that is being played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles California. The Dodgers will have to send one player to the minor leagues to make room for Crawford on their active roster. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will likely be sending to the Dodgers minor league system one of his relief pitchers since he has stated he does not want to have eight relief pitchers on his pitching staff. Crawford had been playing baseball for the High Class A Rancho Cucamanga baseball team this past week during a rehabilitation assignment.

As a Dodger fan, I don't know to be glad or happy. The Dodgers are in a bind to play Crawford because of his contract. He just never contributes much. I thought Trayce Thompson would be sent down and surprised a reliever is going considering how injured and poorly performing the relief corps have been.

I have heard that Crawford during his time with the Rays was a speedy base runner. I guess age has taken a toll on him,.

@Deepizzaguy Crawford was a great player in Tampa and he cashed in with a huge contract with Boston. Then he was besieged by injuries and got old overnight. The Dodgers had to take him from Boston in order to get Adrian Gonzalez.
