Here we are at #1 in this series of my Top 10 Favorite Songs by New Order. No, #1 is not "Blue Monday," which I consider the best dance song I've ever heard (I just recently used "Blue Monday" on an Into the Groovy and did not want to duplicate myself.) And, for the third Top 10 in a row, my #1 song is not a hit. "Sunrise" is a tune from New Order's 1985 album Low-Life. New Order might be known for their influential 80's keyboard-heavy dance music, but they were an equally-great alternative rock band. It's a shame that side was overshadowed by their dance side, but that's how it goes sometimes. Despite the presence of Gillian Gilbert's keyboards, "Sunrise" is a total New Order rocker. Peter Hook's bass line is most awesome, and Bernard Sumner's guitar play, to me, is emotional. It's some of his best work. It is my favorite New Order tune, which, considering just how many great songs this band produced, says a lot about it.

Where's the love for Bizarre Love Triangle? Sunrise I didn't know. Possesses the unmistakable New Order sound.

Oh, I actually did have it on the list, but it didn't make the cut.

@Ronrybs - I think it's because it's an original pressing or something like that.
