Jason La Canfora reported the news on Saturday the Chicago Bears have signed former Houston Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer to a one year contract. Hoyer was released by the Texans on April 17, 2016. Jeff Legwold reported the news that Hoyer had visited the New York Jets and Denver Broncos to seek employment with both teams that need a veteran quarterback on their teams. Hoyer was not able to reach an agreement with either team last week. Hoyer will be the second string quarterback on the Bears depth chart behind Jay Cutler who will be the starting quarterback for the Bears during the 2016 football season. Since Cutler has a history of getting injured, Hoyer could be seeing some playing time with the Bears during the 2016 football season.

We figured Hoyer would land a job. He'll be a solid back up.
