Evil People at Work

Why are there always people on the job who want to get others fired? Someone I know recently resigned from their job and I'm pretty sure it had something to do with one of these situations. There is always someone who wants to take things out on someone who works under them, enjoy torturing a coworker, feel threatened by someone, or want someone's position. The level of drama on the job is amazing and too often it ends up with an innocent person losing their job. It happened to me in my last full time job. I was hired by the CEO, but the workers had actually wanted one of their friends to be hired. I never stood a chance! Everything I did was sabotaged from day one – even when I came in sick as a dog from food poisoning, I was criticized for barely being able to walk while other people who came in sick were treated like angels. I later found out half the things I was supposed to know – I wasn't taught so that I would purposely mess things up. When other staff made mistakes, I would be the one called into meetings with bosses and made to sign improvement plans...yes, for mistakes others made! All because I was hired for the job someone's friend wanted. And they made sure I knew that pretty soon after I started as well.

where I used to work, there was someone who was totally two faced. I know her total goal was to undermine me and get me fired...while she smelled like a rose and appeared to be really nice to the supervisor. Actually, it was racism in reverse. I can not believe someone would act like that, but it happens all the time. I should have confronted her..I was fool not to.

I had one of those jobs that was sabotaged from the first moment. I won't go into the ugly details, but I lasted five weeks. They just wanted a person to fill in for the holidays.

I lasted 90 days. I refused to resign and made them fire me.

@Lolaze I don't know why people are like that. They are no pleasure to be around. They have their head up someone's ..... and everybody knows it.

it can be horrible to feel an entire workforce is against you - it happens a lot often due to prejudice and sadly some school bullies go on to be workplace bullies - hope you don't face this where you work now

Too bad they did it to you to cow you and resign. They are truly bullies who did everything to destroy you. Hope you don't give in to their plans.
