Running into old acquaintances.

A few years ago we helped out an old friend of my sister's by letting her stay with us rent free. My younger sister had known her since kindergarten so we thought that it would all be okay. It was a nightmare. A friend from school did not equate to a good room mate. Everything in our home's fragile system went down the chute. In the end it took a year to get her to leave and then she stopped talking to us and blocked us on social media. I didn't expect to see her today. I thought she'd moved. So I was polite and told her hello because I didn't want hard feelings... And got glared at and snubbed. This woman a few years ago told my my wheezing was irritating and to stop when I had H1N1 and pneumonia. Should I have not said anything? I thought that we were adults and we could move past things. Was I wrong to try being friendly?

I would not care if I were snubbed by someone that used you like that so badly. What comes around goes around you know.

I don't see why you would want to be friendly with her?

this reminds me of a spongebob episode when squidward was fired and had to stay with Spongebob - lol why did I think of that. Anyway, you were civil and that's a good thing. As for her, she is an ingrate and I think you guys are better off without her.

Thank you. I still feel just awful over it. We did a lot for her and she just threw it in our faces.

@CrazyAnimaLady you really would, a year is a long time and you deserve respect for what you guys did to help her out. the least thing she can do is say thank you

Why she has to stay with you for free? Maybe even the foods is free.Am I right? Anyway, its better to help than to be helped. Maybe someday she will realize that you have done her good.
