Expectation vs Reality Singer

I feel like a rockstar, a vocalist, a great singer everytime I sing with loud music on. Then it's just today that I recorded my own voice while singing along with the background music. And I just found out.. it wasn't as bad as I was thinking, but still horrible. Good thing I don't sing when I only use earphones on public places.

I used to be a fairly good singer, if I say so myself, but I've 'lost' my voice...kind of sucks, because I catch myself flubbing notes a lot these days, so I won't even go out for karaoke anymore, and I used to do it weekly for many years

@JolietJake That is cool. I listened to the full video. Have you tried singing "Sweet Child O' Mine"? I think it sounds good to your voice too.

I can understand how It feels because I try it many times with loud music but whenever I try with only background music that sounds really horrible.....lol!

ha ha.. Have you ever tried singing loud while using earphone or headset? Forgetting that people around you don't hear the loud music you are hearing?

@imravi Well, that feels really good. Me too, I always love to sing inside the shower room. Ha ha. Feeling like I'm in a studio or something.

Wow that you should take it as a profession.

Oh no! I can't . Singing is a very competitive profession. I don't think I could level with any other with my voice.

I guess it might not be as horrible. It's just that it is weird to listen to your own voice. I have always felt I'am an okayish singer but everyone tells me I'am pretty good!

@Blue_bubble yes. And even the good singers are being overly judged. Which is not right.

@zaga_cleuth Not that good though.Or maybe not confident enough. I have sang on stage in my school times a couple of years back or so but that's a different story.I didn't feel judged. And social media leaves you vulnerable to judgements.

Yeah... With me the same thing happens. But I'm trying not being sad x') I know that I can't sing good and I will not be able to sing like a rockstar... BUT, sing and music make me feel happy!! The best is not sing in public places ;)

Ha ha. The best is not sing in public places. That's funny. When I was in college I used to sing at public videoke at amusement parks and it feels good. Although afterwards, my friends will never be my friends. They denied me. lols. Just kidding.
