The political rally of the former mayor and his candidates for different positions in our city was finally done last night. The drizzles did not continue as rain, and the evening was filled with humidity. The rally commenced at 8PM while we were watching our favorite television series, and because the basketball court where the rally was held is just several hundred meters from our house, we heard their speeches. According to our laundrywoman (she is here), there were many people who went and listened but they were just observers. Jane our laundry woman, said there was one drunk man who stole the “show” by saying “Mayor DT, talping” (Mayor DT, crazy man). He was not apprehended though because he was drunk. Jane also observed there were no barangay tanods (local patrol officers) around. She heard from her husband (who is a tanod) that the barangay chairman purposefully told the tanods to sleep the night away at the barangay hall. That is unbecoming of a chairman. He showed bias and partiality. He should have allowed even just 2 or 3 tanods to patrol the area. Yes, he is for the incumbent mayor, and he replaced the chairman who was the former mayor’s bodyguard in the previous local election. So, where are your tanods?

The chairman is so obviously biased . He can be complained for that to the higher authorities . But i guess , no one will dare . Funny how a drunk man called the mayor , a crazy man . I just hope that mayor will not win again , or else the community is up for another term of suffering .

@SIMPLYD those people who passed by our house were laughing at the political party because they knew that the former mayor will not have huge number of votes here in my place. they are not hakots too, and those hakots who went are from the city proper. i think they gave P500 to every household 2 weeks ago, but they can never give or offer us because they know us to be honest voters and are not swayed by those "lukuo-lukong" candidates.

our barangay chairman is on his first term of office and he is younger than me but he won landslide, because of the graft and corruption of the former chairman who is the bodyguard of our former mayor. he was biased last night, and he showed his being on the one side of the triangle of mayoralty hopefuls. and yes, nobody pulled out the drunk man because what he told was true. when i was in bed at midnight, i heard some people passing by the "eskinita" and they were laughing at something in the rally.

the Chinese mayor was there during the rally, but he must keep mum because many people might see his actions of slapping (again) a drunkard.

yes that is so true, but they should be impartial, right? but i don't know why they do that, supporting somebody who they think will be beneficial to them

Well sounds normal. We both know that Philippines have a bias treatment when it comes to election. I just hope that the person you are saying won't cheat this coming election just to win.

the cheater will be the former mayor, my friend. he started distributing P500 to every household. the incumbent mayor is an honest person, and is an ex-military man and a lawyer.

Barangay officials, according to law, are supposed to be non-partisan.

That is true, most of the barangay chairman are bias to the recent administration and that is what I don't like in politics, if they think you are not voting for them, they won't help and coordinate you.

well, not all the local officials are biased. just maybe a handpick of them, but yes, they are partial to the recent administration or they just want to be in their position when they go for the ruling candidate as well.

sometimes the people surrounding the good politicians are in charge of running the country. (alipores?)
