Is it true that kids brought up by their grandmother tend to be badly behaved?

I have heard quite a number of people say that if a child grows up under the care of the grandmother,there are very high possibilities that the child will not be well mannered.The reason they say that is the grandmother showers the child with lots of love,are out to give everything to the child without being bothered at how the kid behaves.

There is a possibility that the kids could be spoiled but grandparents also instill discipline to their grandchildren.

If there is laxity of some kind then the result would be undisciplined kids.

@okodoko Thats true ...its not only the grandparents who are spoilers. Grandparents are guilty of giving too much love and attention but they also teach good manners.

My Older sister's care was taken over by my gran and she's an amazing woman. A little stubborn, but she is very well mannered.

@waflay Yep. I know some people can be spoiled my grandparents, but hopefully when they are raising their grandchildren they'd realize that being too lax is actually damaging to someone.

It's true you sometimes look at how bad a child behaves and if by any chance the guardian is the grandparent,then you gets the blame party.

It depends on the grandparents on how they teach their grandchildren, how they show their love and care and the grandparents also talk to their grandchildren every now and then, teaching them on how to be a well mannered person and everything.

It's true because you can still find kids who grew up being taken by their grandparents and yet they have grown up to be very responsible adults.

This is true because they think being soft on the kids shows their concern for them but in the real sense they are just spoiling them.

@waflay Exactly :) But not all though. There are grandparents who bring the grandchildren up well and teach them good manners, Godliness and how to deal with others kindly.
