The title is an old-timey expression for something that is exploding. For millions of people who drive a car, that expression needs to be taken very seriously. Cars containing the Takata Airbag are exploding and injuring as well as killing the drivers and passengers of their vehicles. The Takata Airbag is the largest recall in US history with 70 million and possibly 100 million cars being affected. The saddest part is that it could take until the year 2019 to replace all the airbags; so you may be at risk. The inflators used contain ammonium nitrate which will expand and explode the airbag; particularly in hot, humid climates and will send fiery shrapnel everywhere. Thanks for the reminder! According to the list, my Ford Ranger is too old (1999) so I'm safe, so far. This is one reason I shy away from buying a new vehicle.

I have received a notice in the mail that when the fix comes through they will notify me. I know other people who have also received these notices.
