The first U.S. President to be born as a U.S. citizen, (1782) was Martin Van Buren, 8th president, who spoke Dutch as his first language. The first U.S. President to be born in a hospital was Jimmy Carter who is still living. He was the 39th president, and he was born in Wise Clinic, Plains, Georgia in 1924. The first U.S. President to be assassinated was Abraham Lincoln, one of four U.S. Presidents to be assassinated. (James Garfield, 20th president, died 1881; William McKinley, 25th president, died 1901; John F. Kennedy, 35th president, died 1963) The first U.S. President to die in office was William Henry Harrison. He was the 9th president, died 1841, of pneumonia and pleurisy. The first U. S. President to have is voice transmitted on the radio, was Warren G. Harding, while he was addressing a crowd at the dedication of a memorial site for Francis Scott Key, who wrote the “Star Spangled Banner.” Calvin Coolidge was actually the first to deliver a radio-specific address in three years later. I'm a trivia nut. I LOVE trivia of any kind. There are tons of interesting facts about U.S. Presidents. I think I know most of them. LOL
