In my efforts to learn more about other countries, I thought I would share with you some information about the National Parks in Kenya. I had a Bubblews friend from Kenya and maybe she is on myLot now. I don’t know. But, I decided to research her country and see what I could find, so I came across some of my notes today. There are five National Parks in Kenya that I have learned something about. The first one is Amboseli National Park, a huge park, that stretches across the Kenya-Tanzania border. This area is mostly inhabited by Massai people with others also living there. This area is one of the best wildlife attractions for tourists from around the world. There is a system of swamps in this low-rainfall area that makes it attractive to many different animals and exotic birds. Kora National Park, measures, 1,787 square miles and is located in the Coast Province about 125 miles East of Mt. Kenya. Following the murder of George Adamson by poachers, this nature reserve became a National Park in 1990. Lake Nakuru National Park surrounds Lake Nakuru in the Great Rift Valley. This area is well-known, perhaps for the millions of flamingoes that nest there. A shifting mass of pink sometimes disguises the lake. Flamingoes feed on algae. There is also a fenced area that protects the Rothschild giraffes and black rhinos. I will write about the other two National Parks in another post about Kenya. Such a fascinating country, that I hope to visit one day. Picture of a Massai by Pixabay
