Dream World

Last night I woke my husband up while he was sleeping. I was yelling, literelly YELLING, at a night vision: a little blond girl was standing next to our bed. She ran down the hall and disappeared when I shrieked at her. This has happened before. Usually, my waking dreams entail some kind of spider, not a person. Though, on occasion, I will also wake up to see a random piece of paper or other object "floating" near the walls, only to fade away as I focus on it. Okay, you might be getting creeped out by now. You might be thinking that I can see into the spirit world. And that may be so. That idea hasn't been crossed off my list. A simpler explanation is one that is full of science: A Washington Post article, from 2014 said that: "Heightened blood flow in certain parts of the brain could be why some people remember their dreams more vividly than others... ...the temporoparietal junction--the area of the brain responsible for collecting and processing information from the external world--was more active in high-recallers....Researchers speculate that this allows people to sense environmental noises in the night and wake up momentarily, thus storing dreams for later recall." I am a dreamer. I have ALWAYS had vivid dreams. "Movie" dreams, as I often call them. I bore my family to tears every morning with long, drawn out stories of my dream adventures. I have even woken in the middle of the night and thought, "Eureka! This is the most awesome idea for a novel EVER!" I have a notebook full of story ideas. And most of them came from dream-plots. When I first met my husband and I told him I could dream in color, he was astonished. He never knew anyone that dreamed in color. FACT: 80 percent of dreams are in color. Hubby was also amazed when I told him I could read in my dreams. Dream-reading is NOT a myth! I once had a dream where I was reading directions on how to build a teleportation device: "Take the circumference of the earth and multiply by 3..." I lost the rest of it. If this makes sense to anyone out there, let me know! I might have a piece in a puzzle that could change the course of mankind. Not to mention make us filthy rich... Long story short, I'll probably spend the rest of my life occasionally screaming at dream apparitions--and scaring the poo out of my husband while he sleeps. But it's okay. Because that just means I've got a unique brain. I always knew there was a reason I was...different. How many people here remember their dreams? Do you dream in color? Can you read in your dreams? *photo from tumblr. I think.*

I remember a lot of my dreams. I do dream in color. Has a little girl like you saw ever live in the house?

Then you've got good blood flow in your brain! Like me! The people who lived in our house before us were, according to our landlord, older people. I don't think they had any kids living here. I've "seen" other things in the shadows of the dark, as well. Different manifestations. Sometimes it's spider. Other times, a man. I think they're called, "waking dreams". Or maybe I just have the occasional vision into the spirit world.

@Genipher A spider would be scary enough for me.
