A Cautious And Prudent Foreign Policy

Now that we are electing a new President it is a god time to think about American Foreign Policy. We must be cautious and prudent in world affairs, and the two Bush Presidencies demonstrate this point. Both Presidents faced the same issue in the Persian Gulf and one succeeded and the other failed. The first President Bush, George H.W. Bush, liberated Kuwait and had the opportunity to invade Iraq and eliminate the the threat from Saddam Hussein. As a cautious and prudent President, he wisely decided not to invade Iraq. His son, President George W. Bush, is a river boat gambler and he decided to invade Iraq as part of his war against terrorism. He was betting that the United States would be welcomed as a liberating country, and we could establish a new democratic Iraq under a legitimate government. The plan backfired and the war turned into a nightmare. We must avoid these risky foreign policy disasters in the future. What do you think? Should the next President be as prudent and cautious as the first President Bush? Are you looking for this quality in our next President? Which candidates have this virtue? Give us the benefit of your wisdom.
