This afternoon I went out to buy some fruits. After that, I heard the sound from fire trucks and then I saw five fire trucks passed by. I was so worried because my son had an English class in a building nearby. Then I went to there and found there were many people downstairs. I couldn't find my son and then I wanted to go upstairs to check it. And then I was told all the children went downstairs already. I felt relaxed and called my son. He was on the way home

My sister's house burned down to ashes back in December of 2014. These days, hearing the sound of a firetruck brings me back to that traumatic experience.

So sad for your sister and her house being gone because of the fire.

Any emergency vehicle is liable to send you into a panic if you don't know that your loved ones are safe. Glad your son wasn't involved.

You are right. So whenever I heard this sound, I would feel nervous, especially when it is close to home.

That is scary. I think fire hazard is very real in cities. When an unit catches fire, the fire can spread to all other units. Glad that the children are safe, and hopefully nobody gets hurt in this fire.

I think this fire was put down so quicky since the firefighters took action immediately. They sent five fire trucks there and it was very serious although the fire didn't look so horrible because I could only see some smoke.

@youless I think they fear a fire in the city, since it can hurt more people in lesser time. Good that the traffic is clear, and the fire engines can get there so fast.

@scheng1 Sure, especially when it happens to the skyscrapers.

Oh, I'd be panicking too if I thought my son could be involved in an emergency...

Yes, five fire trucks really made me feel more worried. Perhaps it is not a big fire, I just saw some smokes. But I am glad that the firefighters took it seriously.
