If that were true then...

Since being a vegan, I have been told the general stuff that vegans hear: 1. You lack protein 2. You lack vital nutrients 3. Stay away from high carb foods because they make you fat and give you diabetes. And my response to them is very simple: ok. Let's assume that you are correct and that I lack protein. If that is true, then how come I am still alive and well functioning? How come I did not die yet because of the so called "missing protein" from my body? How come I am not on a hospital bed diagnosed with lack of protein and terribly suffering because of it? Can anyone clear things up for us here because I am confused about this? Again, if I lack certain vital nutrients, then how come I did not die yet? How come I am still alive and well functioning? The third point is that high carb diet makes people fat and gives them diabetes. Well, if that were true then we should expect Chinese population to suffer from diabetes and to be fat because they eat much carbohydrates. We should also expect that raw vegans which eat high carb to be fat, lacking energy and sick of diabetes. Well, if you look at the studies you will find out that that is not true: neither Chinese nor high carb vegans suffer from diabetes or are fat (generally). It is really interesting how people never ask themselves "could it be that I am wrong about this and that fruits and plant products actually have all the vital nutrients and do not cause diabetes as we have been taught?" but they simply assume that vegans are unhealthy and stupid and so on.

I don't think Vegans are stupid it's a personal lifestyle dietary choice. However there is a difference a vegan and vegetarian and some people say they are vegans and eat things like eggs and fish milk etc. Which if you eat any product that comes from an animal you aren't a vegan you are a vegetarian. As for the missing nutrients I am not sure what you may or may not be getting.

Well there are some nutrition value missing in going complete vegan. omega 3 for example, is better in fish. so i am not complete vegan for same reason. i don't trust chemically treated plant food for those nutritional values.

If vegans lack omega three why don't they die in 2 or 3 years since going vegan?
