#9 in my Top 10 Favorite Opening Acts series features Haitian-born Jean Beauvior.
You might remember Beauvior as the bassist for punk band The Plasmatics, the guy with the striking blonde mohawk.
Eventually, Beauvior set about a solo career. His 1986 album Drums Along the Mohawk featured his song "Feel the Heat," which became popular after it was used in the Sylvester Stallone movie Cobra (I'm unable to find any proof of chart action, although I do remember it being a hit.)
I saw Jean Beauvior open for Eurythmics at Red Rocks. It was a show that I attended where I was there as much for Beauvior as I was for Eurythmics.
He didn't disappoint. His band, all of which looked like they could have been members of the New York Dolls, was tight, and Beauvior displayed a confident sense of humor that I haven't heard out of a lot of support bands.
With his performance, he more than ably fired up the crowd for Eurythmics' set (which was awesome, by the way.)

What a great song, I haven't heard that in years. In fact, I just went over to You Tube so I could hear it again.

@teamfreak16 Wasn't Wendy O insane? The chainsaw and tearing apart the cop car?

@JohnRoberts - Well, she did kill herself, so that is a distinct possibility. Maria Raha wrote a really good book about alternative female rock stars called Cinderella's Big Score. The Williams chapter claims she did all that stuff to empower women. What that has to do with a chainsaw, I have no idea.

He's going to be remembered for this song, if at all.
