ESPN.com reporter David Aldridge said on Saturday the Golden State Warriors will not have the services of guard Stephen Curry for the third game of the National Basketball Association Western Conference Semi Finals due to a strain of his right knee.
Shaun Livingston will replace Curry on the starting lineup Saturday evening at the Moda Center in Portland Oregon.
The Warriors who are the defending National Basketball Association champions have a two games to zero lead over the Portland Trail Blazers in the best of seven series format.
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr stated it will be a "slight chance" that Curry will be playing in the fourth game of the playoffs on Monday May 9, 2016 since the Warriors do not want to rush Curry back on the court until he is fully recovered from his strain on his right knee during the first game of the Western Conference in the first round of the playoffs against the Houston Rockets.
It is a wise decision to sit out Curry since for the next two games since the Warriors will be needing him for the Western Conference Finals if they are able to beat the Trail Blazers in the best of seven series to face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs.

I simply don't see Curry playing until he absolutely has to. Why pay him not 100% when the team is winning anyway.

You are correct. Why push him to play if he is not perfectly healthy at this time?
