Day 50 Psalm 50 Psalm 50:1 < The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah. 7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. 8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. 9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. 10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. 11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High: 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. 16 But unto the wicked God says, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou should take my covenant in thy mouth? 17 Seeing thou hate instruction, and cast my words behind thee. 18 When you saw a thief, then you consented with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. 19 You give thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frames deceit. 20 You sit and speak against thy brother; you slander thine own mother’s son. 21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. 22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. 23 Whoso offers praise glorifies me: and to him that orders his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God. Everybody has trouble. Some troubles are big and some are small. Some are easy to take care of and some are impossible. Whichever kind of trouble you are in, God will help. God said to call on him in the day of trouble and he will deliver you and you will glorify him. We tend to forget the first part of that verse. We forget to call on God until every possible option we have has been exhausted. God is our last resort instead of our first. God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. There is nothing too hard for our God to take care of. He doesn’t want our money to fix our problems so he can go out and get his next meal. The only thing God wants from us is faith to believe he will answer us when we call on him, first, not last. God reiterates that promise in Jeremiah, and Jesus confirmed it in John. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which you know not. John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Jesus also said we don’t need a lot of faith, just faith as big as a mustard seed would move mountains. Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Nothing will be impossible for you with mustard seed faith. God said to call on him and he will answer us, he will deliver us and he will be glorified. The only thing we need is faith to believe. However, when you do not believe, and you do not trust, and all you do is go around swearing and cussing at every turn, your trouble will increase. God is not glorified in slander and unbelief. God is glorified in faith and trust. Let’s pray: Father, help me have faith as small as a mustard seed so that when trouble comes my way you will hear me when I pray and you will come to my aid, just as your Word promises. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 8 May 2016 by Valerie Jean Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

We do all have troubles and we always manage to get through them. I think He gives us the strength that we need. He said he will not give us more than we can bare, so I am hoping it lets up soon.
