From my window I can see a boy who is sitting on the floor under the shade of a shop right in front of my house. He has been there for two days. The shopkeeper has permitted him to stay there.
As he has told me,he has come from a remote village looking for a job in the aluminium plant here.He cleared matriculation and had to leave school as his father,a poor farmer, had no money.
I understand his problem and want to help him,but don't know how.I know what it means to be poor and unemployed.
Imagine how difficult it is to leave your village and your parents, taking shelter under the shade of a shop in an unknown town and running from pillar to post to get a job.Don't know how I can help him.

sometimes all you can do is offer small things, perhaps a cool glass of water and a snack during a meal time, if money is tight he may have little to none for food. (and I knew there was discussion in that post earlier!)

@else34 most people wouldn't want to give money either, but a snack and a drink go a long way I am sure

a scenario like this makes me sad all the time. give him food and a lot of water to keep him hydrated the whole time. if you have a spare money, give some.. is there a church where he can sleep? a place there that can adopt him for free? you can refer him there. oh lend a blanket too if you have a spare. and pray for him to get that job soon.

@MGjhaud,Thanks a lot for good suggestions.I'll take him to a temple that gives free shelter to those who don't have money. As for blanket,he has one that he has brought with him. There is also a Hindu temple that offers lunch and dinner to the poor for free, but it's seven kms away from here.I will take him there too.And I'll talk to my manager and request him to give him a job,if possible.

You offer your friendship, food and shelter if you can. Telling him of any job openings you may know of will surely help.

@rusty2rusty,I can be his friend and I can help him with food as well, but can't give him shelter. My house is not spacious enough even for our family. And yes,I am going to request my boss to give him a job,if possible.
