How I spent Mothers day 2016

Today I laid in bed for a bit until my kids wanted breakfast. I got up and got that for them and then started on the dishes and laundry. The house is a disaster. It is something I have to work on tomorrow since we were gone so much recently I haven't had much time for housework.
At 2 pm I left my meet my mother and father and my sister at a Chinese Buffet. My dad paid for us women to eat it was very sweet. It was the first time we have gone out to eat just the four of us since I was a teenager. My sister had her oldest watch her toddler and my daughter watched my son.
I enjoyed the quiet time with my family but I really missed my kids the whole time I was gone. I just feel like I missed out on my mothers day by being out without them.
While I was out and in the shopping area (it is an hour from home) I stopped to get some things for my sisters baby shower this upcoming Sunday. I bought her an outfit for the baby and all the things I need to make a name decoration sign for the babys wall as well as a diaper cake.
I cannot wait to start working on both projects. It is going to be a lot of work but it will be worth it. I also got some of the food I need to make some things for the shower to share.
The photo I attached is the hibiscus plant and lottery ticket I gave my mother as a gift for Mother's day.

When I got home it was time for my kids to get baths. I asked my son if he wanted to read or do anything while his sister was in the bath but he just wanted to keep playing his video game :-/ My mother liked her plant though so I was happy about that. I will have to ask her if she won anything on the lottery ticket I bought her.

I am going to be a basket case this week trying to get everything done for her shower. Thankfully I am not the one planning it I am just helping out by doing the games and bringing food. I bought her an adorable outfit for the baby at Target and am making her a wall decoration with the baby's name and a diaper cake.

When my daughter was little my husband and I went on our first outing without our daughter. That was when she was 2. It was on our anniversary. I had a cousin baby sit her as she was the only one I trusted to watch her. She had a little girl who was a month younger then my daughter.
