Today's Into the Groovy takes us to New Jersey, the birthplace of shock/horror/punk band Misfits. The group has had quite a busy revolving door of musicians, with bassist Jerry Only being the only constant. While Only is now performing vocals, other notable singers include Glenn Danzig and Michale Graves. "London Dungeon" is my favorite Misfits tune. According to Wikipedia, Danzig penned the song following a night in an English jail. The song is available on the 1981 EP 3 Hits from Hell, and their 1986 self-titled compilation. Either is worth the purchase. After all, all those kids wearing Misfits shirts aren't wrong.

Not heard of this lot. Thought the song was about the tourist attraction on Tooley St.

They are popular with kids. It seems like not a day goes by over here without seeing a kid in a Misfits shirt.
