The Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown Racing trio will be held on Saturday June 11th.
So far in horse racing history, beginning in 1919, with the first winner, there have only been TWELVE winners of the Triple Crown. (Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont Stakes)
Here they are:
Sir Barton - 1919
Gallant Fox - 1930
Omaha - 1935
War Admiral - 1937
Whirlaway - 1941
Count Fleet - 1943
Assault - 1946
Citation - 1948
25 years later
Secretariat - 1973
Seattle Slew - 1977
Affirmed - 1978
37 years later
American Pharoah 2015
Is Nyquist going to be a Triple Crown Winner? We will know soon. The Preakness will be May 21st and The Belmont Stakes will be June 11th. Place your bets. LOL

I knew them all but that is not surprising to me, because I have always followed the news on the Kentucky Derby and the Triple Crown races. It's just something that I've always been interested in.
