It is so easy for people to crushes on people online. When I was using Internet Relay Chat (IRC), it seemed like everyday someone was declaring there new and forever true love to a person they had encountered online. There were even IRC weddings, where the "couple" and the friends from their common chatroom would gather and someone would act as the minister over the ceremony and pronounce them married. Ultimately, something that would happen and the couple would end up divorcing before they even met face to face. We read each other's thoughts here on MyLot and see each other's pictures. Often we find someone who thinks as we do or is sympathetic to the way we feel about certain issues. It's easy to find oneself with a crush, or even feeling "in love". Crush is really a more accurate term. I'm glad you used that term. I know what it's like. I've had plenty of crushes. I have the experience to know that when it goes beyond that, it can endanger our morals and our morale. Don't decide you're in love without meeting someone face to face. I bet I sound my age now...LOL. Really though, to love a person, to love them truly and completely, you have to know them inside and out, deeply. The full knowledge of that person will not be complete until you see each other sick with the flu for three days with no makeup and no hair gel, with your legs or your face unshaven, smelling just like the three days lack of bathing that you have spent. When you can accept a person on that level, then you can begin to know the very deepest depths of love. Even then, there is more to it than that. You don't really know a person until you have at least one, maybe more than one, argument. It's ridiculous to think you are never going to argue. It is possible though, that you will never argue until you are face to face. That's because it's easier to hide your feelings online. Maybe you won't lie outright. You might not even know that you're hiding your feelings. It just happens when you know the person you are chatting with cannot see you. Yes, there are online crushes. Yes, I have even had a few myself. I have learned, however, that there is a difference between an online crush and a face to face full blown love.
