Do they laugh at you when you tell them your dreams?

Do you have dreams of becoming an astronaut and going to Mars or just being a doctor or a lawyer or a movie star? Do your brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors just laugh when you tell them your dreams of being a better person and maybe reaching a goal that is far from your immediate reach? Maybe they don't see it in you. Maybe that is because you are too close to them for them to imagine that greatness can be achieved by those who they think are just ordinary people. Prove them wrong. That is my philosophy. Don't just tell them your dreams, go after them and then with any luck from hard effort and determination and will power, you will have the last laugh. You will realize your dreams! If someone tells you, "It can't be done" or "You are reaching too high" just don't listen to them. They don't know your heart. They don't know you like you know yourself. Just go out and achieve your dreams. Let them fall behind you and watch you as you rise to the top. It's your life, not theirs. Do not look back on past mistakes, look forward to your next achievement. Baby steps of long leaps. Going forward is the only way to reach your dreams.

When I was 16 my older brother laughed at me about buying and renting buildings, I now own rental properties. A few old men told me I could NOT mow this place with a push mower, I have kept it cleaned for 6 years with ANY type of mower. I rebel I reckon :)

You are a good example of what it means to do things your own way in spite of what others say.

Most of us wanted to be a sort of celebrity when we were small children. Astronauts were in fashion when I was a teen and so were movie stars. I guess we aren“t reaching too far when we try to reach our dreams. Dreams change, but the capacity to try to be better stays.

Sometimes you have to step outside our comfort zones but then I am more like you in a way because I am comfortable with my way of life but I could do more if I had a million or two. lol

@lookatdesktop My dreams never needed much money. I do need some, but it is the kind of money many people have.

@marguicha Most people have some money but never seem to have enough of it.
